The Youngest PaperWorks Co. Fan?

Hello out there in blogland!
It's Emily's day for a post today; she'd like to show off the card she made her daddy for his birthday!
(Bear in mind, Emily will be 5 at the end of the month)

Emily says:

"The Scarlet Macaw needs to be rainbow coloured, because just scarlet borings me out. This bird is sitting on a ruffly branch, 'cause I didn't want ut just straight. There are rocks, too, 'cause Daddy likes rocks. And flowers. With jewels in the middles. And I drew the sky, in different shades of blue. Mommy cut out Tikki for me, because I was busy cutting out rocks. And the best part is, it says 'Happy Bird-day' inside - get it?!"

Emily made this card with one if the leftover mini kits that Peggy from PaperWorks Co. was sweet enough to send for her, and Tikki the Toucan is part of the Jungle Jesters set that I won last month, from PWCO as well!
THANKS, PEGGY!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop - #3!

Happy Hump Day!
It's time again for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This week, we're showcasing our Bling, and what better stamps for bling than Bombshells?!
Nicole posted this really awesome tutorial to make these pins here; go check it out!

Sorry for the crappy photo yet again...as you can see in the most recent posts, my new old house is still nowhere near done, which means we've still got crappy lighting to deal with! Anyway, back to the important stuff: You can't see it much in the photo, but the angel's wings are glittered, as well as the leaf, stem & cherries, and both pins feature some rhinestone accents. Just purely fun, and they honestly took me all of about 5 minutes; 15 if you count drying time for the glue! (But if you're planning on using them on something, I'd wait at least a full day before I attached them, just to be sure!) For the record, the angel pin is ivory with grey tones for shading, and the cherry pin is actually a blue background (BasicGrey Lemonade blue, to be exact).

Make sure you check out the other blingtastic babes & their work this week!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop!

Hiya Chickies!
Well, it's Hump Day Hop day again - but since it's my birthday, life has gotten in the way of my creating, so I'm bowing out for this week. You've got to love 4 year olds - Ms. Emily spent all of yesterday telling anyone who would listen that it's her mommy's "14th birthday"... LOL!
Go check out the other Bombshells creations here!

MMSC #18

Morning, all!

Well, here's another slip-it-in-at-the-last-minute challenge card, for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #18! I'm still in Melita, and have no ribbon here (duh! How could I forget to pack that?!) and so, the Scor-Pal lines will have to do. This card is one that I'm not totally thrilled with...but it's still cute (I think...)

I thought that the piece on the front was the perfect spot for a little 'secret' pull tab; just made it a wee bit more fun!

I used some Liquid Applique on the cupcake frosting & for the cupcake itself (chocolate, of course) and then blasted it with the heat gun to make it puffy. Looks pretty yummy IRL!
Well, I think I'm going to go on a little trip to the next town north of here, and see if their scrapbook store is still open...and if so, I think I'll buy myself some ribbon for an early birthday present! (lol)

The Morning After...

The Hump Day Hop, that is! I'm in Melita today, which means I don't have any of my supplies...which means, I have no project for you today (Come on boys, finish our house!)...but I did want to stop in & post a quick "Hi" to my two newest followers - Jacqueline (#9) & Queenie (#10)!!!

Also, thanks everyone for stopping by on the Hop yesterday & thanks for leaving all the sweet comments - hopefully you'll be back again!

And lastly - it looks like I WILL be doing a tutorial on the notebook, so stay tuned for that; I can't promise when I'll get it posted, but it should be up in the next couple of weeks.

Later, Gators!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop!

Welcome to the Bombshell Hump Day Hop!

As promised, the Bombshell Design Team Members (and us Monthly Pin-Ups, too) are bringing you a hop that's bound to keep your Hump Days hot!! View rockin' projects at each stop along the way every Wednesday, and leave comments to win a wicked prize.

Here's how it works:
Start at any of the Design Team Member Blogs and take a peek at their Hump Day project. Leave them a comment and tell them what you think about it! Then, make sure to visit rest of the DT member blogs and leave them comments, too. The more comments you make, the more entries you will have to win a great prize from Bombshell Stamps at the end of the month!

This week all of our projects are based on Ms. September's Challenge - Sarah K has challenged us to make a project inspired by a movie. Can you say "Meeeeeeeee-yow"!? That sexy Catwoman ravaged my brain in her attempt to make it on to paper!

Ok, so her ears are a little screwy, but hey, I never said I could draw! (LOL) I also added in her tail & boots; all added items are shiny & sparkly, thanks to the Copic Spica pens! She's been put on a handmade notebook; if anyone cares to know how I made it, I might consider doing a tutorial in the future.

You can't see it very well, but there's a strip of black glittery cardstock, punched with a border punch that's placed behind her, just for a little extra 'somethin-somethin'. The notebook itself uses my pleather that I found in the remnant bin the other day - WOO HOO! (Which reminds me - I need to get my butt back to the fabric store tomorrow to see if they have more!)

That's it for today, folks...Don't forget to leave your comment and then hop on over to check out the other Bombshell DT Member blogs!!! Don't forget to join us again next week!

Yay!

Well looky here... two more followers!!! Hello to my two favorite blogging Canucks - Sheena (#7) to the East & Peggy (#8) to the West! Yay!!!!
Oh - and check out Peggy's store, too - she's created my new favorite animal stamps, which you'll be seeing just as soon as they get here...in the meantime, go see what Sheena's been up to with them!!!

MMSC #17

Yup, I'm LATE with this one! It's been a crazy week with my baby starting school, and all the preparations that go with it... and I was feeling pretty un-inspired...but here's what wound up being created for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #17:

How do you photograph something clear?! I mean, again, I've proven my crappy photography skills...but really? This was beyond difficult for me! (Like, 30 photos later and I'm still not happy with the results...thank everything for digital!)

Anyway, lots of sparkle was added here...can't see it really, but the fat horizontal strips are blue, then the outside frame is purple, followed by a pink inside frame. The two little corner strips are green, and the same green was added to Cosmobella's martini. (Cosmo? Whatever.)

I'm going to try to slip this in just in the nick of time...although, I still think it looks like crap, but at this point, I just don't care.
Come back in the AM & check out what I've got in store for you then - I'm MUCH more excited about it!

WOO HOO!!! ... And Not-So-Woo-Hoo.....

The Good News:

Guess what?! I'm Miss February for Bombshell Stamps!!! I know...it's a LONG time to wait...but considering it was my very first DT application EVER, it's cool that I managed to get on the team at all! I've been doing the happy dance since I found out...and am so very thrilled!

(The Bad News:)

On the downer side, I applied for The Greeting Farm's Fall Gardener Call... and didn't make it. Oh well... In November-ish there will be another call...and I'll try again then! For the application, they wanted one of your submissions to use a 'Circus' theme. I always think PT Barnum when I think Circus, which most often leads me to think about his FeeGee Mermaid (you know, the one that turned out to be the top half of a mummified monkey sewn to the tail end of a mummified fish. Ew.)... Anyway, I thought I'd make a cuter, not so gross version of a Mermaid Tank, especially since the TGF Mermaid Anya stamp is Emily's favorite... Here it is:

So... what we all know remains true: I'm a terrible photographer. At least, for now. (Come on boys, GET MY HOUSE DONE!) Other than that, I'm really happy with how my Mermaid Tank turned out! I got a wooden shadow box (roughly 5X5) at Dollarama, and painted it all up - which I think turned out decent, considering I am by no means a painter! Then I added some sand in the bottom & some skittles (aka dew drops)...and a couple skittles attached to the glass for air bubbles. I put a coat of Mod Podge on the glass to make it look wet, and I think it did a pretty good job of achieving that effect. Mermaid Anya is up on pop-dots, too - I didn't want to fiddle with string/fishing line/whatever. There are also a couple pearls in her hair & she is coloured with Copic Sketch & Atyou Spica pens. The little plaque is actually done using the SU! Modern Label punch. I punched a piece of black CS, painted it gold, and while it was still wet, I 'engraved' the letters. If I had nicer writing, this would have looked better, but I'm going to be taking this one off & putting something else on there before I give it to Em anyway. Last but not least, I added some peel-off stickers to the corners, to give the tank that elaborate gilted look... I guess it's not 'Circus-y' enough for TGF, but I sure am proud of it!

(Oh yeah, and Congrats to the folks that did make it... Can't wait to see what you did!)

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to stop by & check out what I've been up to; I'll be back a little later in the week with 2 or 3 Sketch Challenge entries, and a box or a bag.
