Bombshell June Hop!

Hey all!

Welcome to Bombshell Stamp's June Hop! The theme this month was to create something with a dude in mind... and the Monthly challenge is to create a memory box of sorts... so I combined the challenges & created this trinket box for my Mr.

I used Bombshell's 'Rise & Shine' set for the image, as well as some parts from Gauche Alchemy's 'Winter Slush' and 'Scarlet Fever' colour kits. I found the metal mesh in a local shop & the box is from Stampin' Up. (I bought a gazillion of them on clearance... lol!)

Anyway, best carry on the hop & see what other greatness is out there - peace out, dudes!

PaperWorks Co - NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP!

Hey All!!

Welcome to the Hop to celebrate PWCO's newest release! If you've just stopped by here, thanks for popping in - but please make your way back to the PaperWorks Co Blog to see what's going on! If you've come here from Jenny's blog, then you're already on the right track!

So what's the deal, you ask?

Why, Zach & Zoe have hit the scene again in the Sports Series II set! You can get yours here: http://paperworksco.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=49_253_511

Oh, and as a little bonus, Peggy has been kind enough to offer a 10% discount on ALL PWCO Stamps; what better time to stock up on the ones you're missing than now?!

Now - on to the crafty stuff!
This little number features Zach the Baseball Player, and the June PaperCard Kit. I was DEFINITELY channelling Maile Belles on this one... except, since I have no cloud die, I just freehanded mine. (Which would be why they look like crap. LOL!) Both the blue front & Zach himself are popped up, and the sentiment is from some DoodleBug rub-on alphas I had in my stash.

Here we've got Zoe the Swimmer - my fave from this release! Ooo, and guess what? I figured out how to salvage the ink-stained card front I had laying on my desk! Zoe's also been attacked with Glossy Accents... or rather, pretty much everything on her with the exception of hair & skin! The flowers & rhinestones are all from my stash, however the papers are all from the June PaperCard Kit as well. (LOVE this kit. You need it - and every subsequent one to be released! LOL)

Oh, and as per usual, there are prizes to be had! Not only do I have a little prize package for one lucky winner, but there's also one entire new release set up for grabs - hidden along the hop somewhere! All winners will be chosen randomly from comments left.

And on that note.... you better head on over to Bella's blog & see what she's got in store for you. I'm sure it's awesome! =)

Blogging over at PaperWorks Co today... same project, but more details here.
*************************************************************************************

This would be 15 cards that Emily thought we needed to make, because a friend of hers is going to Edmonton sometime this month for open heart surgery. I used the June PaperCard Kit & various stamps from PaperWorks Co, as well as some random items from my stash; Emily picked out the papers & embellishments, and I basically just threw it all together. They're all fairly simple cards, and I only wound up using about 1/3 of the kit - which is awesome, considering the kit costs a whopping $11.99CAD.

As a disclaimer, though, I'd like to point out that I only made the fronts from the kit; everything is attached to pre-made 5.5" x 4" white card bases - which is generally how I do every card I make.

Now for some details:

Cut 4x5.5 front from 8.5x11 purple cardstock from Kit. Cut 5x3.5 piece from 6x6 sheet of DoodleBug paper from Kit. Added Dew Drops from Kit. Diecut butterfly; spritzed with various colours of Smooch Spritz. Edged wings, antennae, & body with Stickles.

Cut 5.5x4 front from 8.5x11 purple cardstock from Kit. Used remaining 5x2.5 piece from Doodlebug paper. Stamped Zoie, cut with Nesties Labels 9, coloured with Copics, and edged diecut & patterned paper with Liquid Pearls.

Attached final piece (1x6 - trimmed off remaining .5) of DoodleBug paper from kit to white base; edged patterned paper with Stickles. Diecut butterfly with CuttleBug; spritzed with various colours of Smooch Spritz; edged with Stickles; created body with BasicGrey Opaline Half Pearls. Cut 4x5.5 front from 8.5x11 yellow cardstock from Kit. Cut 5x3.5 piece from 6x6 sheet of DoodleBug paper from Kit; edged with Stickles. Added rhinestone swirl from stash. Diecut butterfly; spritzed with various colours of Smooch Spritz; created body with BasicGrey Bling It! Rhinestone Dots. Edged wings & antennae with Stickles.

Cut 5.5x4 front from 8.5x11 yellow cardstock from Kit. Used remaining 5x2.5 piece from Doodlebug paper; edged with Stickles. Stamped Mikey, cut with Nesties Labels 3, coloured with Copics; edged diecut with Stickles.

Attached final piece (1x6 - trimmed off remaining .5) of DoodleBug paper from kit to white base. Stamped Lucas; diecut with Nesties Labels 1, coloured with Copics & edged diecut with Stickles. Added Dew Drops from Kit.

Cut 4x5.5 front from 8.5x11 green cardstock from Kit. Cut 5x3.5 piece from 6x6 sheet of DoodleBug paper from Kit; edged with Stickles. Stamped Harriet; diecut with Nesties Labels 4, coloured with Copics, edged diecut with Stickles. Added Stickles to Harriet's toenails!Cut 5.5x4 front from 8.5x11 green cardstock from Kit; edged right side with Stickles. Used remaining 5x2.5 piece from Doodlebug paper; edged with Stickles. Diecut butterfly with CuttleBug; spritzed with various colours of Smooch Spritz; edged with Stickles; created body with BasicGrey Opaline Half Pearls. Attached final piece (1x6 - trimmed off remaining .5) of DoodleBug paper from kit to white base; edged with Stickles. Used random rub-on sentiment from stash; punched using a Stampin' Up punch. Edged with Copic, then with Stickles. Added random rhinestones from stash.

Cut 4x5.5 front from 8.5x11 pink cardstock from Kit. Cut 5x3.5 piece from 6x6 sheet of DoodleBug paper from Kit. Stamped Gordie; diecut with Nesties Labels 8, coloured with Copics, edged diecut with Copics; covered in Glossy Accents & let dry. Finished by cracking GA & edging with Stickles. Added Dew Drops from kit in top left-hand corner.

Cut 5.5x4 front from 8.5x11 pink cardstock from Kit. Used remaining 5x2.5 piece from Doodlebug paper; edged with Liquid Pearls. Used random rub-on sentiment from stash; added a few BasicGrey Opaline Half Pearls.Attached final piece (1x6 - trimmed off remaining .5) of DoodleBug paper from kit to white base. Added piece of Washi tape (received from my friend Sunghee - thanks!!!), along with random rub-ons from stash. Stamped Sammy; diecut with Nesties Labels 11, coloured with Copics, edged with Copics & Stickles. Added Stickles to Sammy's spots.

*NOTE - We interrupt this post for an important news update*

*If you've been following the pattern here, yes, there is one 'missing'. I got as far as getting the patterned paper on the cardstock front, then got disrupted. Needed to stamp something else somewhere else, and inadvertently set inky inkpad cover ON previously mentioned front... so it is now hanging out on my desk waiting for an epiphany on how to make it remain useable.*

Anyway...back to the regularly scheduled program:

Cut 5.5x4 front from 8.5x11 blue cardstock from Kit. Used remaining 5x2.5 piece from Doodlebug paper; edged with Stickles. Used random rub-on sentiment from stash; added a few rhinestones from stash. Added button from Kit.

Attached final piece (1x6 - trimmed off remaining .5) of DoodleBug paper from kit to white base; edged with Stickles. Attached heart punched from matching paper that was already in my stash. Added double-sided stickers from DoodleBug, then coated in Lily White DoodleBug Sugar Coating Glitter. Added glitter to centre circle & edges of heart. (This was done before I broke out the Stickles for everything else.)

All those cardstock fronts I cut resulted in .5x5.5 scraps. Added those to a white base, along with random buttons (some from stash & some from kit) and a random sentiment rub-on also from stash.

And TA-DAAAAAAAA! 15 cards - done! We took them to school for Annabelle's classmates to sign, so she can open them during her hospital stay. (Emily will be making her own card for Annabelle, since A's in the 3rd grade, and we wanted her own classsmates to sign them.)

An Emily Creation...

So Ms. Emily needed a birthday card for one of her three 'boyfriends' last week... and so far, she's made her own cards, so we figured we better continue the tradition. This card features Zed from DoodleFactory's Creatures II set (which the awesome Sheena B sent to me; thanks Sheena!!!) as well as Nestibilities Labels 1, which you can pick up at PaperWorks Co! The sentiment stamps used on the front are from this set by Hot Off The Press - although, I think I picked this set up at the LSS forever ago. (It's definitely a go-to set!)

The dew drops are there to represent boogers... yum! <--not! LOL!
The sentiment inside is included in the Creatures II set; PERFECT for a 6 year old boy!

The card base is actually from a K &Co set I got at Michael's forever ago; the set is full of pretty blues & greens. Emily found a base in the set with a cut-out, but she wanted to use this base instead, so we broke out the Nesties & hooked her up. I helped her with the cut-out, with inking the edges of the cut-outs & lining up her sentiments, but the majority of the card is all her. (Nah, I'm not proud of her... not at all!)

Anyway, guess The Man needs me to bring him some lunch... farming has been interesting these days, as it's been so wet lately. A few days ago, he tried to sow a field, but literally would get stuck, get pulled out, go thirty feet, and get stuck again. We tried something new yesterday; sowing via spray plane. Apparently, they attach a chute that disperses the seed when the dump gate is opened, and the seed is spread over the field that way - very, very similar to spraying, but obviously you're using something solid instead of liquid. So... the girls & I headed up to the airstrip yesterday to watch; brought back memories of an old job... sure do miss working at the Flying Club!!!!! (*is a little background needed? I think so. I used to work at the Brandon Flying Club, & handled all things office- & parts-related for the shop. Sure did love that job - always had something new to learn, met a ton of interesting people, and got to check out all sorts of aircraft. That job was extra-cool, because 20 years ago, when I was just wee, my dad was not only a spray pilot, but he also was a flight instructor at said Flying Club, so I spent LOTS of time there... and it turned out that the same head mechanic was STILL there when I applied for my job! Had to quit after two years, because a new opportunity arose, which included better pay & benefits - something nice in the first place, but even more important when in the position of a single mom!)

Wow, sorry, got sidetracked there.... alrighty - NOW I'm going to make lunch! =)
